Fairy Dust, Pt. 6

“Who is it?” Asked a bored voice from inside.
“Fremont, open up! It’s me, Faylinn!” Ordered Faylinn. The door creaked open, and the girls rushed inside. Fremont was sitting on his large canopy bed reading a book, but put it down once the girls entered.
“Fay, what do you want?” Grumbled Fremont.
“Adelina and…excuse me, what is your name? Ok, Adelina and Aileen here overheard a plot to overthrow the kingdom when mother and father leave tomorrow! They came and tried to warn them, but they got locked up by a traitor and then they had to send a temporary courier to find me, and I unlocked them but father wouldn’t listen to us and so we came to find you so you could convince father not to go!” Faylinn stopped to catch her breath, and then looked at Fremont expectantly. He was staring at Adelina and Aileen very hard.
“Is this true?” He asked. “Did you two really hear about someone trying to take over the kingdom?”
“Yes, you see we used a spell to dissolve into a wall right before Lady Amber and her guests came in, for you see we weren’t supposed to be fooling around in her library, and while we were there we-” Babbled Aileen, but Fremont stopped her.
“Do you mean to say that Lady Amber is plotting against us?” Demanded Fremont.
“Well, um…yes, I guess I do.” Said Aileen, confused.
“Father must be warned at once! If Lady Amber gets control over the kingdom, there is no telling what might happen!” Said Fremont worriedly, and he led them to the throne room. The King instantly lighted up at the sight of his only son.
“What is it you want Fremont?” He asked cheerfully.
“Father, I think you should listen to what these girls have to say.” The King looked startled; obviously he hadn’t excepted this at all.
“Oh very well, what is it you want Faylinn?” Asked the King unenthusiastically. Faylinn smiled, and nudged Adelina forward. Adelina swallowed nervously, and told the king all she knew. She told him about when she and Aileen had had overheard the plans, and how they had hurried to tell him. She explained how the guard had tricked them into the prison, and how Faylinn had rescued them. Aileen chimed in every now and then, and when they at last finished, the King looked very thoughtful.
“Are you telling the truth?” He asked sternly.
“Oh sire, do you think we would really make all this up?” Cried Aileen, rather indignantly, but the king did not seem to notice. After several minutes, he stood up, and motioned to one of his servants, who had been standing in shock nearby.
“Bernard, Summon Lady Amber at once!” He ordered.
“Yes sire.” Said Bernard, and hurried out the door. After he was gone, the king began questioning the girls about their information.
“Are you SURE about that?” He would ask again and again.
“Yes sire, absolutely.” Adelina or Aileen would sigh. This continued for quite some time, as it grew later and later. At last, when Adelina felt she couldn’t keep her eyes open any longer, in walked Bernard with his hand on Lady Amber’s shoulder. The two sisters quickly backed off behind Faylinn and Fremont, hoping Lady A. hadn’t noticed them. Fortunately, she didn’t even glance in the royal children’s direction, but kept her eyes on the King.
“Sire,” Her icy voice cut the silence, “I demand to know the reason for me being brought here at this hour.” Aileen nudged Adelina, and pointed to Lady Amber’s feet, which were clothed in two fluffy slippers.
“If you must know, it is because I am putting you under arrest.” Stated the King matter-of-factly. Ignoring her gasp of horror and dismay, he continued.
“I have good reason to believe that an uprising against the kingdom is to occur after my wife I and leave tomorrow, and that the uprising is being led by you.”
“What? I would never ever dare to betray your lordships most noble throne, why you know as well as I do that I have been faithful to you and your wife for-”“Enough, it is useless to grovel. I have two witnesses who heard all your plans earlier this evening. In fact, I do believe that they used to work for you.” The King pointed to the sisters. Lady Amber’s eyes opened very wide in surprise and anger. She started to say something, but stopped in defeat. The King smiled, and ordered Bernard to lock Lady Amber in one of the most heavily guarded cells.

What will happen to Adelina and Aileen now?
